about rahel ruch

I have always been athletic and attracted to sports, eversince I was a child. My first passion was dancing and later, when I started lifting weights, I immediatelly fell in love with it.

In 1998 I competed for the first time in a fitness show. At that time I didn't think i woud ever be a bodybuilder. Between 1998 and 2005 I regularly competed in naitonal and international fitness/figure shows. In 2007 I made the change to bodybuilding because in the meantime I had aquired too much muscles to keep on competing in fitness class.

The same year, 2007, I got the world champion title in NABBA and the next year I was the runner up in the bodybuilding heavyweight division of IFBB. With this, a dream that seemed impossible became reality, something I never thought I would eventually get: the IFBB Pro card.

2010 is the year that marks my pro debut, at New York Pro in May.

I continuously try to improve my body and this is exactly what keeps on fascinating me about bodybuilding, how one can change the way his body looks. Of course it is a very hard work but what motivates me is the great feeling I get once I reach the goals I have made in this direction.

That's how a normal day in my life looks like:

I wake up around 7-8 am, feed my cat and if I am preparing for a show I do some form of cardio before having breakfast. If not, I skip directly to breakfast:) I have a couple of hours to do some office work, emails and so on; I have one more meal, I prepare the meals for the rest of the day and then I go to do my workout. After the workout I have to meet my clients and most of the time I am not back home before 11-12 pm!!!! I have so little free time but whatever I can get I use to relax or go out with my friends.

Talking about role models, I have always been a fan of Gladys Portugese and Lenda Muray. They have showed to the world that muscular women can be still very feminine and appealing, despite the fact that muscles that are considered by the general public to be a man' apparel.
